Room 15 Field Trips

I would like to schedule four curriculum-based field trips and one in class presentation


 1. Mission San Jose Trip: A guided tour of the local mission and museum. This trip aligns with social studies curriculum on the Mission Era and early settlements. This will be a walking field trip to the nearby Mission, with no cost for transportation. There is a $3 entry fee for students charged by the Mission.

 DATE: December 18, 2019, 9:00 am-1:00 pm        Cost: $3.00/student                            — $90 per class 

Parents chaperones are welcome; the Mission charges $5 per adult to enter. 


2. Star Struck Theatre: A visit to a theatrical production of The Wizard of Oz at Ohlone College, Smith Center. This trip aligns with the performing arts standards. This will be a walking field trip to Ohlone College, with no cost for transportation. Tickets are $15 per person. Performances last about 2 hours and 15 minutes, including intermission

     DATE: January 21, 2020, 8:25 am-12:00 pm

We are limited to only 2 parent chaperones by the theatre (parents of students with medical needs); the theatre charges $15 per ticket. For directions to the theater click here.



3. Fremont Symphony: Attend the annual Children's Concert. The concert will feature compositions by local elementary school students, selected from submissions to the Young Composer's Competition. This trip aligns with performing arts standards. This will be a walking field trip to Ohlone College, with no cost for transportation and no entry fee.

Parents chaperones are welcome at no cost. Location: Ohlone College’s Epler Gymnasium located at 43600 Mission Blvd., Fremont.


4. Coyote Hills Regional Park: A trip to the coastal hills where Fremont meets the bay to learn about ecosystems and how the Native Americans used the land and natural resources. This trip aligns with science and social studies curriculum on ecosystems and Native American culture.  There is no cost for admission for parents or students. Parking for parent drivers is free, and parents will be provided a parking permit once we arrive at the visitors center.

5. Ancient Artifacts in class presentation- “The Gold Rush”: a professional hands-on presentation in class on the inner workings of The Gold Rush. Students will handle artifacts and learn about panning for gold. This presentation aligns with social studies standards on CA early history. Presentations are approximately an hour.
