Dear Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to 3rd grade at Mission San Jose Elementary!  I am delighted to be your child’s teacher! We have lots of new, exciting plans and curriculum for the upcoming year!  I look forward to sharing more information with you at Back to School Night on Tuesday, September 17th!

Homework for tonight:  Please review all items in the folder and return the Emergency Pack by Friday, August 31st. I have also enclosed the MSJE Three-Way Pledge.  Please read and discuss with your student before signing and turn in by this Friday.

A few reminders: The first three days of school are minimum days, 8:30 am 1:25 pm.  The regular schedule, 8:30 am to 2:35 pm, will start on Tuesday, September 4th. There is no school on Monday, September 2nd, Labor Day.

Students need a 1 ½ inch, three-ring binder. NO ZIPPER or VELCRO binders. Please help them set up their binder, by Tuesday, September 3rd. Instructions are on my webpage (Binder Organization) and students will be given a copy in their Friday Folders.

Also, students are to collect pictures representing themselves and their interests to put on the cover of their writing journal. I would like them to bring the pictures by Friday, September 6th.  I will provide further instructions in the Friday Folders as well.

Please visit my new website for information and updates. I would appreciate if you would fill out the Google Form regarding information about your child. This is also how I will generate the email list.  If you would like to not be part of my group email list, please let me know.  Most of my newsletters and updates are sent via email.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at:  dohara@fusdk12.net.

I am looking forward to a fantastic year of academic and social growth!

Sincerely,

Dena O'Hara
